A Day in the Life at Mighty Oaks: What to Expect for Your Child
Welcome to Mighty Oaks
At Mighty Oaks, we believe that a child’s daily routine should be more than just a schedule—it should be a carefully curated journey of academic readiness, character building, and trilingual immersion. For our Seed (PN) students, every minute of their three-hour session is designed to foster the independence and cognitive skills required for the most prestigious primary schools in Hong Kong. Here is what you can expect for your child.

08:30 – 08:55 | Morning Rituals & Physical Readiness
The day begins with precision and warmth. After a health and temperature check, children practice independence by unpacking their own school bags.
We immediately transition into Fitness and the School Song. This isn't just movement; it’s a trilingual start to the day featuring action songs in English, Cantonese, and Putonghua. This builds neural pathways for language switching while waking up their gross motor systems for learning.
08:55 – 09:30 | Intellectual Curiosity & Theme Exploration
During Circle Time, we move beyond simple greetings. Our teachers introduce the day’s Academic Theme, covering weather, date, and structured concepts.
This leads into Gross Motor Development. Whether using our specialized indoor or outdoor play areas, children engage in Structured P.E. (Physical Education). We alternate days between English and Chinese P.E. to ensure that physical coordination and language comprehension develop hand-in-hand.

09:50 – 10:40 | The Core: Small Group Learning (Table Time)
This is the most critical 50 minutes of the morning. In small groups, our students engage in high-level, focused tasks:
- Literacy & Numeracy: Building the foundations for international and local streams.
- STEM & Sensory Exploration: Encouraging logical thinking and scientific inquiry.
- Fine Motor Practices: Preparing the hands for writing and intricate tasks.
- Artistic Expression: Nurturing creativity through structured projects.
11:00 – 11:45 | Character, Music, and Reflection
We believe a child's EQ (Emotional Quotient) is as important as their IQ.
- PATHS / Moral Education: Using our specialized curriculum to teach empathy and social decision-making.
- Music & Movement: A sophisticated rotation of English and Chinese music sessions to refine auditory processing and rhythm.
- The Feeling Check: Before heading home, students engage in a Reflection & Feeling Check. This helps children identify their emotions and celebrate their daily accomplishments, fostering a growth mindset.

Why the "Mighty Oaks" Routine Works
Our timetable proves that "play" at Mighty Oaks is actually structured learning. By rotating languages and focusing on small-group interaction, we ensure that our students are not just "spending the day"—they are preparing for the future.
Expert Note: This structured approach is why our PN and K1 students successfully transition into elite institutions like HKIS, ISF, and Kau Yan School.
