Kimberly
BA (Brown University), MBA (Glion Institute of Higher Education), PGDE (Hong Kong University), Certificate Programme in Kindergarten Principalship (Chinese University of Hong Kong), Certificates of International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programmes, CCC/W and CCC/S certificates, Managing Emotions in Times of Uncertainty & Stress (Yale Centre for Emotional Intelligence)

Kimberly began this school out of her passion for guiding our next generation to become oaks of righteousness based on Isaiah 61. She attended Diocesan Girl’s Junior School, Hong Kong International School, and St. Paul’s School, a prestigious preparatory school in the United States. Upon graduation, she was awarded the Rector’s Award from St. Paul’s School for her service to the school and for helping younger children in the community. She graduated from Brown University with a degree in early childhood education. At Brown University, she became part of the Watson Association, a select group of Brown alumni who have excelled as undergraduates and demonstrated a keen dedication to international affairs. She then earned her MBA at Glion Institute of Higher Education. Due to her passion for early childhood education, she attended Hong Kong University for her Post-Graduate Diploma in Education and was the class representative of the early childhood group. Throughout her academic career, she was elected to lead different types of clubs, including dance, leadership, and community service programs.
Formerly in the hospitality industry, she has learned that the most important factors for succeeding at work are honesty, integrity, and character. She firmly believes knowledge can be self-taught and skills can be passed down, but moral character has to be cultivated. This belief led her to focus the school’s curriculum primarily on character building based on the nine “fruit of the spirit”.
What is your goal for Mighty Oaks?
We aim to educate through an integrated curriculum of discovery and experiential learning. At Mighty Oaks, we get our hands dirty in the garden, create art, engage in dramatic play, make music, exercise and explore the outside world together. At our Acorn and Pre Nursery ages, we aim to Build foundations of moral values, from which will provide solid development for continuous growth towards Instilling, Conceptualising and Applying these moral values into the daily lives of children to fully enable them to be rooted in their character values. It is our goal at Mighty Oaks to raise children of good character through this developmental process (from acorns to mighty oaks of righteousness). In order to be effective in schools, character building must involve everyone – school staff, parents, students, and community members- and be part of every school day. As a result, we actively involve parents and the community to be part of our children’s educators. Let us all take part in the process of turning our children from acorns to mighty oaks.
How do you define success?
A lifelong learner that continuously aims to be a beacon of light in an ever-changing world.

What is your goal for Mighty Oaks?
I hope that our children in Mighty Oaks not only learn useful knowledge for the future, but also develop excellent characters, so as to lead them into a more memorable life. I look forward to our children being able to lay a good language foundation in knowledge acquisition, because languages are not only tools for communication in a global environment, but also doors to different cultures. We help children open these doors and appreciate various wonderful cultures. In this process, they naturally learn communication skills. I also look forward to our children developing excellent character, because good character can not only cultivate good habits for children, but also develop their social and emotional skills for complex environments, and lay a good foundation for their lifelong learning.
How do you define success?
A positive attitude towards life always lead us to success.
